Mr A complained about the Council’s decision, in July 2021, to remove his partner, Ms B, from the home they shared for 30 years and place her in a care home. The Ombudsman investigated whether the Council followed the correct procedure when it removed Ms B, and whether there were any failings in the way the Council dealt with Mr A in relation to the removal of Ms B.
The Ombudsman found that Council staff followed correct procedures. In considering whether there were any failings in the way the Council dealt with Mr A, the Ombudsman found the staff’s approach was appropriate in the circumstances. Mr A’s complaints were not upheld.
