Non-public interest report issued: complaint not upheld
A GP Practice in the area of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board
Mrs X complained about the care and treatment she received from a GP Practice in the area of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. Specifically, Mrs X complained that, between 19 January and 2 March 2022, the GP Practice failed to undertake appropriate investigations or make appropriate referrals in response to her presenting symptoms and patient history. Mrs X complained that this resulted in a delay in diagnosing her need for gynaecological surgery.
The Ombudsman found that Mrs X’s symptoms were an unusual complication of a gynaecological condition. She concluded that the care and treatment provided to Mrs X was clinically appropriate, with suitable examinations and blood tests undertaken, and a referral made once her symptoms indicated that one was warranted.
Mrs X’s complaint about the GP Practice was therefore not upheld.
