Mr B complained that the Practice failed to respond appropriately to his mother’s reports of shortness of breath in November/December 2020, including making appropriate referrals in a timely manner.
The Ombudsman found that all Mr B’s mother’s consultations at the Practice were within the range of appropriate clinical practice. There was no indication that there was any failure by the Practice to carry out appropriate investigations which might have allowed his mother’s cancer to be diagnosed earlier. Accordingly, the complaint against the Practice was not upheld.
