Mrs A complained that she was unhappy with Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board’s ongoing delay in providing orthodontal treatment to her daughter.
The Ombudsman found that Mrs A submitted a complaint in May2023. However, the Health Board had not provided a ‘Putting Things Right’ response. She also found that delays in treatment were because of the Health Board’s difficulties in recruiting an appropriate restorative dentist. She decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.
The Ombudsman sought and gained the Health Board’s agreement to provide a full complaint response, including an update on attempts to recruit a restorative dentist to progress her daughters care, within 20 working days.
