Non-public interest report issued: complaint not upheld
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board
Miss C complained about the care and treatment she received from Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (“the Health Board”). Specifically, Miss C complained that the Health Board missed opportunities to identify and treat her cervical cancer sooner.
The investigation found that the care provided to Miss C was reasonable and that timely and appropriate investigations were carried out. It found that the actions taken by the Health Board’s clinicians between August 2018 and September 2020 were within the range of appropriate clinical practice. Accordingly, there was no evidence that the Health Board should have identified Miss C’s cancer sooner. The Ombudsman did not uphold this complaint.
