Non-public interest report issued: complaint not upheld
Cardiff and Vale University Health Board
Mr F complained about whether the care and treatment he received following 12 attendances at the Emergency Department (“ED”) between April and August 2022 was appropriate.
The Ombudsman’s investigation found that during each of Mr F’s visits to the ED he was treated appropriately, and in line with national guidelines. The clinicians in the ED and the psychiatric liaison team who assessed him, judged his risk of suicide and appropriately discharged him to community services as the risk was acceptable for community care. The care Mr F received was consistent across each of the occasions he attended the ED and there was no evidence that indicated his treatment should have been any different.
The Ombudsman did not uphold the complaint.
