Hywel Dda University Health Board
Mrs B complained that Hywel Dda University Health Board had failed to respond to the complaint she made to it in May 2022 about her husband’s cancer care.
The Ombudsman decided there had been a significant delay in the Health Board responding to Mrs B and a failure to provide regular updates, which had caused frustration to her.
As an alternative to an investigation, the Ombudsman sought and gained the Health Board’s agreement to apologise to Mrs B for the delay and failure to provide regular updates, issue its complaint response, and offer a redress payment of £250 within 6 weeks.
